Matchbox Models Of Yesteryear

 Launched in 1956 the Models of Yesteryear range was always intended as a collectables series for adults to complement Matchbox toys.

 

The range has included a diverse range of models over the years and at one time was probably the most widely collected diecast range in the Uk, most houses having a few examples displayed on the sideboard or mantlepiece.

 

The series was discontinued in 1993 but many of the castings were used in the later Matchbox Collectibles range which was mainly available by direct mail rather than through collectors shops.
