Founded in 1972 Brumm took their name from Brumista, the name given to the drivers of horse drawn taxis in Milan in the late 19th century.
The first releases were a range of horse drawn carriages available with and without horses and a range of early steam vehicles quickly followed.
The company moved on to produce model cars initially concentrating mainly on veteran and vintage competition cars, but the range later expanded to cover 50's Grand Prix cars and classic cars including Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Jaguar along with the odd Fiat. In later years the Grand Prix range has been extended to cover some 1960's Grand Prix cars but the ever increasing development costs for new moulds has seen a big reduction in the number of completely new models released in recent years with more use being made of existing moulds to produce special colour schemes and dioramas.
Brumm are well on the way to celebrating their 40th anniversary and look like they will be around for many years to come.
