1/43 scale diecast model probably made by Ixo for an Italian magazine publisher of the 1966 Alfa Romeo 1600 Duetto Spider driven by Luigi Cecchini which finished first in the 1600cc class in the 1968 Mugello Grand Prix.

 

From 1920 to 1929 the Mugello Grand Prix was a race for Grand Prix cars held on a closed road circuit.

The race was revived in 1950 as a sportscar race but was only held for the one year. The race was revived again in 1964 to 1969 using a road circuit which ran through the villages of San Pielo, A Sieve, Scarperia, Volla, Firenzuola, Selva and San Lucia. The race was run over 8 laps of a 66.2 km course which also incorporated thye Passo Del Futta, a famous pass from the Mille Miglia route.

The model is brand new mint stock mounted on a plastic plinth in a blister pack.
