Good quality 1/43 scale diecast model of a Citroen ID 19 Rallye which competed in the 1962 Liege - Sofia - Liege Rally.

Although the big heavy Citroen ID/DS was a pretty unlikely looking rally car they were very successful particularly in the marathon events where the lighter faster cars tended to have reliability problems.
The car modelled was crewed on the 1962 Liege - Sofia - Liege Marathon (also known as the Marathon De La Route) by Claudine Bouchet and Alexandra Kissel, who won the Coupe Des Dames. This was a very successful rally for Citroen as two of the other ID19's entered finished 2nd and 4th overall allowing Citroen to win the Coupe Des Constructeurs (Constructors Cup) and Coupe Des Nations (Nations Cup).

The model was probably made by Norev for Atlas Editions a magazine publisher for their partwork series The Citroen Collection .

This is brand new stock in mint condition on a display plinth and is packed in a clear vacform cover.
