Corgi The Avengers Gift Set

Approx 1/43 scale Bentley 4ins / 10 cms long, Lotus 3.25 ins 8.2 cms long

 Corgi GS 40 The Avengers Gift Set produced between 1967 and 1969 comprising John Steed's Bentley in Red with Steed figure and Emma Peel's Lotus Elan in White with a standing figure of Emma Peel.

The set originally included 3 small folded plastic umbrellas which went into the holes on the front of the inner stand but these are missing.

 Overall condition is good but it is not mint. I know it is completely original as I have owned it from new, bought for me as a Xmas present almost 45 years ago.

 The Bentley and Lotus both have chips and other paint damage and the figures of Steed and Emma Peel both have some paint rubbed off, all of which is clearly visible in the pictures. All the screens are undamaged and the side windows slide up and down on the Lotus and the bonnet opens.

The outer box is complete but creased in places and has one surface tear which could be repaired with glue. There are 4 sticky labels on one end of the box which have been there from new. The colours are reasonably bright and it is a bit dirty but would display OK. The inner stand is complete but the front and floor are a bit bowed and the back has been folded along the lower edge so it doesn't stand up unless it is supported. The cardboard support inside the base of the stand is present but there are no other packing pieces.

Overall a good item for a collector who wants a displayable set but can't afford a mint one.
